Darrell conceived the "Darrell Armstrong Foundation for Premature Babies, Inc." (a non-profit organization) after he and his wife Deidra experienced first hand, the emotional and financial strain resulting from the premature birth of their youngest daughter Maylea. After this experience, Darrell promised himself that he would do everything in his power to help other families deal with the traumatic experience of having a premature child.
